Dr. Dunkins is the Senior Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church (One Church in Two Locations), which is located in Port Norris and Vineland, New Jersey. He has been the Senior Pastor of Shiloh since May 1987. As a result of his pastoring, teaching and implementation of new ministries, the church has grown spiritually, financially numerically and is a blessing to the South Jersey area.
Dr. Dunkins is a life-long learner with a varied educational background and after finishing his Associate’s Degree in Social Work from Cumberland County College, he continued his educational pursuits. He received a BA in Social Work from Stockton State College, a Master of Education Degree from Philadelphia College of Bible (PCB), a Master of Educational Leadership Degree from Philadelphia Biblical University, and a Doctor of Ministry in Missions & Contextual Leadership from Palmer Theological Seminary at Eastern University.
Dr. Dunkins was bi-vocational and retired from the Bridgeton Board of Education in 2011. He attended Glassboro State College where he received additional educational training and worked as a teacher, Supervisor, Child Study Team Social worker and he retired as the Human Resource Administrator. Dr. Dunkins holds educational certifications in the following areas: Special Education teacher, Child Study Team Social Worker, Curriculum Supervisor, Principal and School Administrator. He has also served as an elected official serving one-term as a Cumberland County Freeholder.
Dr. Dunkins presently serves as the President of The Bethany Baptist School of Ordination and as the General Secretary for the General Baptist State Convention of New Jersey.
Dr. Dunkins continues to expand the vision of Shiloh Baptist to make sure we embrace the changes in our culture that will keep our evangelistic efforts relevant. We serve the communities of Commercial Township and Vineland through the “Beyond the Walls Community Development Corporation (C.D.C.). We are looking to expand the church in Vineland and establish more outreach and social services through our community center. Dr. Dunkins’ goal is to keep Shiloh "an exciting place to worship". The church has continued to be a force in the South Jersey community.
Dr. Dunkins is a noted conference speaker, with a specialty on men, relationships and Missional Outreach. He is also an author of the following books: “Producing Under Pressure”, “Seasons of Pain”, “What a Man Thinks”, “Don’t Just Make a Baby, Be a Father”, and “Engaging and Retaining Millennials in this Post- Christian Culture” (which was the subject of his Doctoral Dissertation).
Dr. Dunkins is married to the former Marsha Morris. They have four children: Erica Yvette, Justin Allen, Jennifer Denise and Brittney Michelle. They also have seven grandchildren.
